The Secondhand Inspiration Project begins with a motivational quote and ventures wherever the creative path meanders.

Oprah Winfrey has become, for many, a source of inspiration and hope. Her drive guided her to overcome an unstable home life as a youth. Her trademark empathy and benevolence helped her become a role model, especially for African Americans and women.

She became a billionaire and donated millions to charity in the process. She etched out an acting career and a long run as a talk show host despite not having the “typical” Hollywood and media look.

Along the way, this woman who endured abuse and poverty as a kid has doled out countless gems on how to follow in her generous and graceful footsteps. Oprah’s positivity and ambition seem downright infectious — so let’s catch it. Below is my favorite Oprah quote -

Wherever you are in your journey, I hope you, too, will keep encountering challenges. It is a blessing to be able to survive them, to be able to keep putting one foot in front of the other — to be in a position to make the climb up life’s mountain, knowing that the summit still lies ahead. And every experience is a valuable teacher.

Few people humbly wear the crown of success, but Oprah Winfrey is certainly one who does. Her wisdom can motivate you to face life’s challenges with focus and mindfulness. Here are several life lessons based on this stellar quote of hers.

“Wherever you are in your journey,…”

We are all at different points in our trek towards achievement. Don’t compare your location to others’.

There’s space for everyone to shine and discover joy. As Emily Madill once said, “Measuring sticks are good for one thing: to help you remember how far you have come and how amazing you have always been.”
